Cover Supervisor

Full Time, Permanent, Grade D point 7

The Park Community School now has the opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor who will join us to cover a variety of classes during periods of absence of the designated teacher. You will also be expected to undertake related administrative tasks and provide teaching support. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive environment for effective learning, following the schools policies and procedures. This is an ideal role for individuals looking to develop their career in an educational setting or for those seeking opportunities in teaching as it provides the broad exposure required, and is ideal for any candidates who have a genuine passion for developing and supporting young adults.

This post will be offered on a full time/permanent basis.

Teaching Assistant

We are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to work term time only (1 role is permanent and the other role is fixed term). This role will work with a range of students with a variety of special educational needs including social and communication difficulties. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have had previous experience of working in a school environment, providing support to vulnerable children/young people.

The job will include the delivery of individual work programs, contributing to the planning and preparation, monitoring and evaluating the pupil's participation and progress, and providing feedback to the teacher.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a successful academic record, preferably a degree in a named field of study if subject/faculty based or hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3) or a willingness to undertake training /course/ apprenticeship programme leading to a qualified Teaching Assistant status.
  • Have some knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
