London Expressive Arts Trip 2014

London Expressive Arts Trip 4th – 6th July 2014.

On a sunny weekend in July, 63 Expressive Arts students spent three amazing days in London. This enrichment experience always provides our students with many fond memories which will last a long time.

As usual we managed to pack so many activities into our three day period. Not bad for £155.00! This includes two nights in a hotel in Paddington!

Here is the itinerary for weekend.

BP Portraits Awards at The National Portrait Gallery

An opportunity for all students to appreciate portraiture on so many levels.

West End Shows this year were Matilda and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time. Both shows were simply amazing. Our Art, Drama and Music students were left spellbound at the end of each show!

The Human Factor Exhibition at The Hayward Gallery. Some very thought provoking sculpture and painting address social and political issues of our time.

Short Visit to The British Museum – An impromptu visit to The British Museum provided our students with some great inspiration for their work back in the classroom.

Cartoons Unmasked – The British  Library – Here we saw how the history of comic books has unfolded over the years.

National Theatre Backstage Tour – fantastic experience as the students see a variety of different stage design, props and special effects.

Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green- A very interactive experience for all. Our Year 10 students forgot for a couple of hours that they are far to cool and sophisticated for dressing up and rocking horses!!

Borough Market and The Shard for Lunch-  Food from all corners of the world is available here.

Brick Lane Market for some shopping. Some funky eclectic market stalls with something for everyone!
